What you are agreeing to

When you press connect, your calendar provider asks whether to let ScheduleConnector access your calendar. If you say yes, we can read your calendar and add, change and remove events on it. That access is what lets the app you are using offer your real availability and book into it.

You can withdraw it at any time, from your provider’s account settings or from the app that sent you here. Nothing keeps working afterwards, which is the point.

What we actually read

To answer when are you free, we call your provider’s free/busy service. It replies with time ranges only — start and end. No titles, no guest lists, no locations, no notes. That is the only way we read your schedule.

To put a meeting on your calendar, we create an event with the details the app gives us — a title, a time, who is invited — and we can update or cancel one we created.

We also read your calendar’s time zone, once, so times are shown correctly.

What we store

For each connected calendar, four things:

• the email address the calendar belongs to, so it can be told apart from a colleague’s
• its time zone
• an encrypted token that lets us keep access without asking you again
• whether the connection is live, and when it was made

The token is encrypted before it is written down and is never shown to anyone, including the app you connected through.

Event contents

Busy times are read when the app asks for them and passed straight through. The four fields above are the whole record — there is no copy of your calendar here, and nothing about the contents of your events is written down.

Your calendar data is used to answer that app’s scheduling requests, and for nothing else.

Who sees it

The app that sent you here. That is the purpose of connecting: it receives your busy time ranges and can create events on your calendar. Its own privacy policy governs what it does next, and we are not able to speak for it.

Beyond that, only the infrastructure that runs the service — hosting and database providers acting on our instructions — and anyone we are legally required to give it to.

How long

Until the connection is removed. Disconnect, and the stored token is revoked with your provider and the record is deleted. Events we already created stay on your calendar, because they are yours and other people may be attending them — delete any you do not want.

Your rights

The data described above is yours, and you can exercise the following rights over it at any time by emailing us at the address below:

• ask for a copy of what we hold about you
• ask us to correct anything that is wrong
• ask us to delete it, or simply disconnect, which deletes it
• withdraw your consent to the connection
• object to, or ask us to restrict, how we use it
• ask for it in a portable form to take elsewhere

We answer these requests within 30 days and never charge for them. If you are in the UK or EU and think we have handled your data wrongly, you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
